“If you are looking for personal, yet sometimes shocking stories, this book is the one for you. You will laugh, be confused, love the characters and be shocked by some endings. The stories will make you see the world in a different light, one word can change everything. Nothing is as it seems.”

- Marit

SAMPLE OF THE SHORT STORY 'ACHOO!' FROM TWISTY TALES

“Achoo!” I sneezed a sneeze like never before. I held my hands in front of my nose as to not get my nasal discharge on top of anything else.

I felt something land in my left hand, so I went to get a tissue to clean it up, when from the corner of my eye I spotted something blue. I returned my gaze towards my hand and saw a tiny woman wearing a blue dress. “Hello sir, you may proceed with getting that tissue for me, please.”

I reached inside my backpack, grabbed a tissue, and handed it over to the woman. Although baffled by the skill with which she used the tissue to clean herself up, I managed to ask her a question, “What is your name?” I scratched the back of my head. Was I hallucinating this because of the beer I had chugged down a half hour ago or was I starting to have mental problems like my aunt and grandma had? My mom had always said crazy ran in the family. Maybe she was right.

“That’s none of your business sir,” she lingered and looked teasingly at me, “Oh well, you have been so kind to lend me a place to stay for some days, I might as well give something in return… My name is Alexandra Patnick.”

“How… “ the words were there, but I felt tongue-tied due to her blank and moreover calm expression, “how long have you been staying in my nose?”

“Well, I had a contract for a week, with the option for an extra week with 50% off, but it was getting a little muggy in there, so I made you sneeze me out!”

“My parents always told me that as I child I’d loved to tell stories to the grownups, entertain them. Later, I told stories to my friends to entertain them. I’d never thought I could entertain the idea of actually becoming a writer one day.”
