Coming up: Poetry book!!!

At this very moment I’m putting the finishing touches on my poetry book. The plan is to find a publisher, but if I don’t, I’ll just publish it myself! I thought I’d give you guys a small taste by sharing one of the poems in my book. I wrote the poetry book in the time just before my mom’s passing, so it’s a very personal book for me. I hope some of my words resonate with you, and make you feel a little less alone. This was also one of the poems that I read at the open mic event!

Give her a life without fear

My mom was unlucky in this life.

Took the knife

of living by the blade.

Life gave her lemons,

but she had never heard of lemonade.

A woman full of potential

and fear.

I expect reincarnation

to be kind to her.

For my mom to

have the life she’d prefer.

One she could enjoy

without fear.

One that won’t destroy

her in a year.

Give her the life she

deserves.

If she would to become

my daughter.

I’d be the best mum

for her.
